This panel, hosted in recognition of LGBTQ+ History Month, explores hate crimes in the context of public policy issues, examining how governments, institutions, organizations, and communities are responding to rising threats of identity-based violence. The conversation will explore topics of public safety, inclusive governance, and institutional responsibility in the face of historical treatment of the LGBTQ+ population and documented trends of hate crimes toward this group.
